Making of Delirium Dreams

Yesterday our lovely director Veera loaded "Making of shortfilm Delirium Dreams" video on YouTube. I gotta tell you guys that it has been a real honour to work with her. And with Delirium Dreams team and cast.
Veera and the team supported me with every step. Even when the script had to be rewritten almost completely a week before deadline. There's no better team one can hope for <3

"Making of shortfilm Delirium Dreams"

Coming up bad food from McDonald's, inability to keep up the appearances, "omfg, she's wearing reino -slippers!" and a major fail in trying to hide from the camera. Enjoy!

Please comment, like and share. And don't miss the movie!

See you in Mental Health Art Week!

Project "Delirium Dreams"

"Once upon a time in the dark forests of Finland, I heard a story of two young friends who met a great unknown shaman. The young had no idea what they got theirselves into. An innocent looking woman with friendly behavior isn't always what she appears to be..."

Hi people! I have all new project to introduce to you. This project is called Delirium Dreams. And it is the best project I've ever been involved to. It is also one of a kind that happens once in a blue moon (especially if you are a nobody like me). So, what is Delirium Dreams?

Delirium Dreams is a short film of what happens when someone affects to your psyche with psychotomimetic substances.
In the film two young females meet an unknown gothic lady but there's something weird about her. The way she acts and reacts isn't quite normal. This unknown dark stranger gives the young a bottle of liquid x, herb booze that contains psychotomimetic belladonna. And the journey to madness and nightmares can begin.

Shooting Delirium Dreams 22.3.2014

Pictures below are real making of pictures.

 Shaman and her victims

Director, make-up artist Veera Lapinoja and Mörkö the cat

What an exciting day starting. We started at 10 am at Veera's where she did make up for our brilliant actresses.

Belladonna bottle and other booze bottles (no we didn't really drink them)

Tintti's make-up needed to be polished

Cheers!

From Veera's place we went outside to a park where we shot the outdoor scenes. One of our stars found herself a Bacardi bottle.

It's completely normal that people take pictures of you when you are cutting yourself...

"Bloody" knife props

Unbelivably real looking make-up for slit wrists :O

We ended shootings back at Veera's place around 3 pm. And we are all excited to see what our film looks like when it's edited and all. I'm not quite sure if I have guts to watch it because I almost shat myself during the shooting (would be shame though since I'm the one who wrote the script).
Countdown starts NOW! Stay tuned and remember to check Delirium Dream in Mental Health Art Week that opens on 19th May.

Still alive and well

Sorry you haven't heard anything of me for quite some time. I totally forgot about this blog when I got a job - yeah, you heard right, I'm working nowadays too. But I have been writing too: two new stories are up at NovelJoy and so is the fifth chapter of Russian Lullaby. What new stories? They are called "Different" and "If I die young". I'll intorduce them to you shortly.

Different is a story of a disabled boy who is hated and denied by his parents and society, he's an outcast among his own. Until he meets vampire named Gabriel, the only living thing that doesn't loath him for his challenges. Gabriel shows Eliya a world where he first time feels at home even with his disablities.

If I die young is my first Hunger Games fanfic and tells a story of Ivy Porter who is selected to compete in cruesome game that Capitol has set to remind citizens of Panem of the revolution as a District 12 girl Tribute. The scenery is the 73rd annual Hunger Games. "Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor."

These are my new projects that I hope will bring you the same experience of amazing things that exist in the stories that I have found.

Few important things for an author

Okay so today I decided to talk about few important things for an author.

First of all, remember that you should never compare yourself to classic authors like Dostoyevsky, Tolstoi, Tolkien and such. You are not them, and fact is that being famous and "classical" author doesn't make one a good author. Besides comparing yourself to someone else only makes you feel bad about yourself.
Second, as I wrote earlier: take care of your physical and mental health. They're important because feeling bad and tired will reflect to your stories and progressing.
Third, your betareader is your best friend. It's not like she/he points out flaws and mistakes because she/he wants to make you feel like you're an awful author. By pointing those things out is your beta's way of helping you to improve your author's skills. From my experience I can say that my beta is the best.

So let your imagination take over and start writing ;)

Progressing slowly...

I'm starting to get frustrated. I completed the fifth chapter of Russian Lullaby some days ago and now I'm waiting for my betas comments about the chapter. Four days in and I haven't heard anything. Of course she might be busy but it is frustrating to sit and wait. But for now only thing I can do is to sit and wait. No matter how frustrating I think it is.

Some good news too, though. I think I have an inspiration to continue "project Dusk Fall" (as I like to call it). Thanks to my flatmate. She's unbelivably creative and genius.

Oh shit! The D day!!!

Today I'm gonna talk about getting stories or chapters ready for your readers to read. Yeah, they sure check your text daily to see if you have updated new things and yeah, they'll be disappointed to see nothing is happening. But for your own sake: do not give any certain D days, just in case you have unexpected babysitting job or you're simply busy with many things. If the readers love the story they'll wait for the new chapter as long as it gets published.

I always disliked the D days at school because it made my stress level rocket sky high. And quite often I was writing the essays night before and they sucked. So when I became an amateur online author I decided that I won't give myself or my readers any certain dates when the next chapter is up.

Few easy steps to save guard your own mental health as a writer:
1. as I said do not give any dates to yourself or your readers
2. accept the fact that you always don't have inspiration to write
3. allow yourself write even the worst shit there is because it might help you to have an inspiration
4. remember also take care of your health by exercising, seeing friends and eating + sleeping well.

A new begining

I got inspiration to write yesterday so I continued Russian Lullaby a little. I still feel like writing but I don't have any ideas so far.

For a while ago I had the idea of killing one of the characters of Russian Lullaby but I had to ditch the idea because the character is way too important for the story. So plot is still a little open. Yet there will be major turning point coming, I can feel it in bones though I don't know what's gonna happen... yet.
